* The tempering process involves the heating and cooling stages to give the glass outside pressure tensile stress on the horizontal line and indirect tensile stress to the center of the glass. The fully tempered glass is about 5 times stronger than non-processed glass and is suitable to use as safety glass as it reduces the risk of an injury by breaking apart small and not sharp pieces when broken.
* The semi-tempering process is also applied by using different cooling steps. Semi-tempered glass is about twice as durable as non-processed glass.
* Glass cutting, drilling, edge and surface treatment cannot be performed after tempering process (except sandblasting).
